RESEARCH LAB INSTRUMENTATION

Bruker maXis Impact QqTOF MS

Bruker maXis impact

A true work horse of the lab, the Bruker maXis Impact QTOF MS is ideal for analysis of a wide range of molecules. Our instrument is coupled to a Waters Acquity I-Class UPLC for separation of compounds prior to mass spectrometry. In addition, this instrument is coupled to the Prospekt2 SPE system discussed below.

Waters Xevo Triple Quadrupole (QqQ) MS

The Waters Xevo triple quadrupole is coupled to a Waters Acquity iClass ultra high pressure liquid chromatography (UPLC) instrument. UPLC-QqQ-MS instruments are useful for sensitive quantification o flow abundance compounds such as plant hormones and large scale targeted profiling using multiple reaction monitoring (MRM).

Bruker timsTOF MS

Bruker tims TOF MS

The Bruker timsTOF MS is coupled to a Waters Acquity I-Class UPLC for separation of compounds prior to MS analysis. Trapped ion mobility is enhances separation of closely related compounds that might overlap in a typical liquid chromatography experiment. This might include isomeric compounds or compounds that have the same polarity.

Spark Prospekt2 LC-SPE (Solid Phase Extraction)

This instrument is used to trap peaks eluting from chromatographic separation and subsequently transfer them to NMR tubes with deuterated solvents after drying with nitrogen gas. It greatly facilitates isolation and purification of unknown compounds from complex sample mixture for structural elucidation of unknown metabolites

Bruker 600 MHz NMR

600 mHz NMR

The Sumner lab has a Bruker 600 MHz Avance III HD NMR with a 1.7 mm TCI micro-cryoprobe with Sample Jet autosampler.
